Properties of the Aromatic formula
The most important virtue of the star anise is the digestive due to its capability of stomach secretions stimulation. Is very useful for gases and works as a sedative in intestine pain. Besides, it acts on the nervous system analgesically. It´s antioxidant, expectorant, stimulates the menstruation and the breastmilk, it´s a natural tonic and it has antibiotic capabilities.
The verbena infusion facilitates the digestion and avoids the intestine pain, makes a toning and relaxing function on the stomach. It relieves the heartburn and is carminative, the verbena is beneficial for the respiratory tract, expectorant, bronchitis and the cough.
The cinnamon is a potent digestive, acting in this system with its carminative properties (expulsion of gases) and relieving intestinal pain. It stimulates gastric acids and also relieves heartburn. It is an aperitif. It has antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties, therefore, it´s beneficial for the respiratory system in cases of bronchitis, cough or colds. The cinnamon has antiplatelet, antisclerotic and antithrombotic properties, so, promotes blood circulation and it is beneficial for the vascular system. Besides, it has estrogenic properties.
Etymology of the main ingredients
STAR ANISE, “Illicium verum”. “Illicium” comes from Latin “illicere” that means excite or attract, because of the intense aroma of its fruits. The epithet “Verum” means true or authentic.
ORANGE “Citrus aurantium”. “Citrus” from the Latin , classical name of the poncemer “Citrus medica”. The epithet comes from Latin “aurantus” golden, due to the color of its fruits. The name of tits flower in Spanish, “Azahar” comes from the classical Arabic ”az-Zahr”, that means flowers.
VERBENA, “Aloysia citrodora” “Aloysia” in honor Maria Luisa of Parma, wife of Charles IV. “Citrodora”, because of its citrus aroma.
CINNAMON, “Cinnamomum Zeylanicum”. “Cinnamomum” comes from Greek “Kinnamon or Kinnamomon” that means sweet wood. “Zeylanicum” refers to the place of origin “Ceylan”. It can also be named “Verum”, that means “the authentic”.
