1. WHAT COOKIES ARE AND WHAT THEY ARE USED
A cookie is a file that downloads on users’ devices when they go to certain websites to store and recover information about browsing done on that device.
Cookies allow us, among other things, to store and recover information about the user’s decisions and habits in order to improve the user’s experience. At l’Infus we use them to personalise the experience of our website, to identify and record the registered user and to facilitate browsing.
It is important to emphasise that the use of cookies doesn’t provide personal information about the user, that is to say, for l’infus the user is anonymous.
Users can configure their browser not to accept the use of cookies, in which case the personalization of the experience will not be applied, although they will be able to continue to access the contents of our websites normally. The majority of browsers currently allow users to configure whether they want to accept cookies at all and which of them to accept.
These settings are normally found under the “Options” or “Preferences” heading on the browser menu.
These are the instructions to configure cookies on the main browsers:
· Chrome: Show advanced options -> Privacy -> Content set up. For more information, please consult Google support or the browser’s Help menu.
· Firefox: Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Record file -> Personalised set up. For more information, please consult Google support or the browser’s Help menu.
· Internet Explorer: Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy -> Set up. For more information, please consult Google support or the browser’s Help menu.
· Safari: Preferences -> Security. For more information, please consult Google support or the browser’s Help menu.
2. TYPES OF COOKIES THAT CAN BE USED
Cookies, in function of their duration, can be divided into session cookies or permanent ones. The first ones expire when the user closes the browser. The second ones expire when the aim that they are used for is achieved (for example, so that the user remains identified on the website) or when they are manually erased.
Additionally, in function of the aim, cookies can be classified in the following manner:
· Performance cookies:
This type of cookies remembers your preferences for the tools related to services, so that they don’t need to be configured for service again every time that you visit.
As an example, this type includes:
Volume settings on video or sound players.
The video transmission speeds that are compatible with your browser.
· Geo-localization cookies:
These cookies are used to find out what country you are in when you request a website or a service. This cookie is totally anonymous, and is only used to help orient the contents of your location.
· Registration cookies:
Registration cookies are generated once the user has registered or opens a session after having registered, and they are used to identify the user on the websites and services for the following purposes:
To keep the user identified so that, if a service or website closes, when the browser or computer is opened again at another time or on another day, and the user enters the service or website again, he or she will remain identified, facilitating browsing so that users do not need to identify themselves again. This function can be suppressed if the user presses the “Close” button, so that this cookie is eliminated and the next time the user enters the website, he or she will have to open a session in order to be identified. Check whether the user is authorised to access certain services, for example, to participate in a contest.
Additionally, some services can use connections to third parties such as Facebook, Twitter, or Google. When users register on a service with the credentials of a social network or third-party system of identification, they authorise it to save a cookie that remembers their identity and guarantees access to the website until it expires. Users can erase this cookie and revoke access to the website by way of social networks or third-party systems of identification by updating their preferences on the social network specified.
· Analysis cookies:
Each time that a user visits a website or service, a tool of an outside supplier (Google Analytics and similar) generates an analytic cookie in the user’s device. This cookie, which is only generated by a visit, will be used by l’Infus services on later visits to identify the visitor anonymously.
The main aims are:
To allow anonymous identification users who browse through the “cookie” (identifies browsers and devices, not people) and therefore the approximate counting of the number of visitors and their trends over time.
To anonymously identify the most heavily visited contents and, therefore, the ones that are most attractive for users.
To find out whether the user who is entering is new or is visiting again.
Important: unless users decide to register on website, the cookie will never be associated with any personal information that can identify them. These cookies will only be used for statistical purposes that will help to optimise the experience of users on the website.
This Website uses Google Analytic, an analysis service by Google, Inc (“Google)”.
