Etymology of the main ingredients.
TEA, “Camellia sinensis” the name honors the missionary botanist Josef Kamel for his studies aon the flora of the Philippines which he signed with the latinized name Camellus. The Latin name of the plant “sinensis”, coes from China, and it refers to one of the origin places.
CINNAMON, “Cinnamomum Zeylanicum”. “Cinnamomum”, name that comes from the Greek, “Kinnamon” or “Kinnamomom”, that means sweet wood. “Zeylanicum” it refers to the origin place, Ceylon. This can also be named “Verum”, that means “the authentic”.
LICORICE, “Glycyrrhiza glabra” that comes from the Greek “glykys” sweet and “rhiza” root. “Glabra” from the Latin, that means hairless.
MINT, “Mentha piperita” Etymologically mentha is derived from the Latin, mintha Greek name of the nymph Minta, who became a plant. Piperita refers to its spicy taste.
