Ingredients: Bai Mudan white tea and linden.
Van Goyen captures the moments, showing the circumstances of that moment. The concept of snapshot that we can find reflected in his work it refers us to the white tea. The outbreak is the first state of the plant and by the time it will be a leaf. To preserve the outbreak such as, the trasnsformation process must be stopped; first, with the harvest, and then, with the drying process.
Van Goyen´s sensivity to perception and faithful representation of natural phenomena is a gift, that we can associate with the subtlety and complexity of the white tea buds aroma. A concept of representative and aromatic purity is conferred respectively.
The disposition of the elements of the work, such as the large cloudy mass, that although pushed by the wind it presents us round and intensely soft, the landscape format of the representation with a vast horizon, the discreet dynamism of the portrayed characters; it shows us how calm the days become in some places. This quality gives us the linden with its soothing effects that are already noticed in the sweetness of its aroma.
Landscape was a great genre in Dutch Golden Age Painting. A more realistic landscape was developed. The very low horizons allowed to emphasize the cloud formations.
